Black and white seems to be a recurring (and never ending) theme in my life. (Have you noticed that even my site design is devoid of color?) There’s something so fresh yet classic about the stark contrast in this color pairing. Newspapers, old school photography, yin and yang, Seal and Heidi… all great examples of how black and white just work together. Well, wait. Scratch Seal and Heidi.

In my opinion, they are the most complementary colors. Super simple, maybe. Boring? Never. The outfit combinations of using solely these two colors are endless. My favorite way to utilize them? Pairing different patterns and textures to keep the look interesting. Stripes, polka dots, graphic top, and a geometric bag can all work together! I’m a massive fan of mixing prints and colors, but for those of you who are a bit timid keeping the color palette super simple is a great way to ease into it.
