I love high waisted denim – most notably for the functional properties, but the elongated look is certainly a bonus. I have an hourglass figure, so having the waist band cinched at my actual waist is the best way to keep my jeans up and on. Low rise jeans can often lead to muffin top, or an unsightly whale tail visible from behind. Think it’s safe to say none of us are looking for those properties in denim. Previously a pejorative, these mom jeans have made a surprisingly favorable comeback. A nod to the 80’s and early 90’s with their highwasited hourglass cut, this time around there are more favorable washes as well as distressed/destroyed versions. I love this pair from Asos.
