My Lou Jewels

A bit ago I received an email from an excited local jewelry designer, Shannon, about a party for her upcoming e-commerce web launch of www.myloujewels.com As soon as I laid eyes on the jewelry I was in. It’s a long standing dream of mine to take metal smithing courses and create my own jewelry so to find someone local doing it with a similar aesthetic was really exciting. It’s like I got to bypass the course, the trials and errors and just enjoy finished product! Shannon and I decided to meet up to do a shoot and I felt like a little kid in a candy jewelry shop. I was so excited that the bracelets fit me. Ok, that seems like a weird statement as a bracelet is pretty universal, but I have these tiny little wrists and most bracelets just slide around my arm annoying me so badly before I leave the house that they never actually make it out the door. And if they do, they are being worn half way up my arm to prevent the sliding. The cupid’s bow and duality cuff are perfect for small wrists, but can also accommodate other sizes as well. Those two cuffs were my original favorites from the collection until I realized that the pyramid bracelet is actually an arm cuff… that is meant to be worn higher up. Yep. Actually made for this purpose. *angels are singing and water is parting* The items are also available in both silver and gold, which is brilliant as it suits everyone’s taste. Personally I like to load them on all together, but to each her own.

**I think we’ve all faced points where we wonder where our career is going, and what path we should take (surely that isn’t just me) and I really commend Shannon for following this passion and taking a leap of faith to persue her dreams**
