Last year I reported on my adoration for short suits and this year I’m still a massive fan. The look is simple, elegant, and stylish yet very powerful. I heard from several girls that they loved the look, but didn’t feel they were able to pull it off. So I thought why not break down this look into a few simple parts.
- First, start with a brightly colored suit in a color/pattern of your choice. I recommend sticking to coordinating blazer and shorts as it will keep the look polished and make selecting your other items super simple.
- Blouse in a solid neutral– let the suit take center stage here. There’s no need for a bright suit & a bright blouse. I recommend a solid white or cream, but depending on the color of suit a light gray could also work. If you feel a bit too boring in a plain colored top, select one with texture like the blouse I selected above.
- Simple pumps & a solid bag– a solid colored pump in black or tan will elongate the legs and keep the focus on your suit. Coordinating your bag to your shoes keeps the accessories simple and adds a refined feel to your look.Click here for suiting separates!
